More independents enter the fray in Pollachi, Coimbatore

Coimbatore: Two independent candidates filled nominations for the Coimbatore and Pollachi parliamentary constituencies on Thursday, on the third day for filling papers to contest the Lok Sabha elections. While 69-year-old K Ramasamy, of Kuniyamuthur, would contest from Pollachi parliamentary constituency, Palanisamy Raj, of Punjai Puliampatti in Erode, would put up a fight in Coimbatore. He is the second independent candidate to file papers in Coimbatore constituency. He has bagged the best citizen award, Abdul Kalam award and Mahatma Gandhi award in recognition for his social works.
