CM Stalin flags 50 car ambulances to ferry Covid-19 patients in Coimbatore

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Sunday flagged off 50 car ambulances in Coimbatore to ferry Covid-19 patients to the hospital.

These ambulances will be used in five municipal areas.

Stalin is on a tour of three western districts - Erode, Tirupur and Coimbatore.

He arrived here after reviewing the status and facilities of a centre set up at Perundurai IRT Hospital in Erode and Kumaran College in Tirupur.

Stalin then visited the Government ESI Hospital, a dedicated hospital for the treatment of Covid-19 patients.

Wearing a PPE kit, he reviewed the centre and questioned some patients about the situation.

State Health and Family Welfare Minister M Subrahmanyam and Cabinet Ministers K Ramachandran and R Sakkarapani were also accompanying the CM.

The Chief Minister will discuss with senior officials the status of the epidemic and steps to be taken to control its spread in these three districts.

On May 30, Coimbatore reported 3,537 new Covid-19 cases and 47 new deaths taking the total number of overall cases in Tamil Nadu to 20,68,580 and 23,754 deaths.
