Rich ecosystem at Pomological Station in Coonoor attracts bird watchers

Sathyamoorthymore-inA rich local ecosystem, brimming with bird and animal life, has developed inside the Pomological Station in Coonoor, attracting bird watchers and wildlife photographers to the area in large numbers. He said that such habitats were extremely important for bird populations in the Nilgiris to continue to thrive. “The Pomological station is a little isolated and there is not much tourist movement in the area, possibly also leading to the large concentration of birds there,” opined Ms.
