CUTTACK: Tension prevailed at Aarti steel plant premises located Athagarh in Cuttack district on Saturday after a labourer died.The deceased Manas Swain , a labourer engaged in the plant, was injured on Friday after he was hit by a truck on the steel plant premises. ”The steel plant authorities have assured to provide compensation to the bereaved family following which agitators have called off their protest,” said a police officer. The agitators have blamed factory authorities negligence for death of Swain. He died due to negligence hence factory should provide proper compensation,” said Diwakar Das, an agitator.“This is not the first such incident reported from the Aarti Steel Plant. Few months ago also a labourer had died in a mishap inside the factory premises..
