Due to this lightning, 5 people have died in Baleshwar district, while two people have died in Bhadrak district and one person has died in Mayurbhanj district.
The incident happened when all of them were engaged in paddy cultivation in Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak and Balasore districts.
The injured are being treated in the hospital.
Meanwhile, in Kasabjaypur village of Balasore district, one person also died after coming in contact with an electric wire in a paddy field.
