Chief Justice of India to lay foundation stone of new building of ITAT in Cuttack

CUTTACK: Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra will lay the foundation stone for construction of the new building of Income tax appellate tribunal , Cuttack bench on Sunday. Union law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad , union petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan and State law minister Pratap Jena will also be present on the occasion.After the foundation laying ceremony of the tribunal, a meeting will be held at the Odisha Judicial Academy . "It is matter of immense happiness for us that after four long decades, we will have our own tribunal complex," said S N Sahu, president of AOTBA. State government has provided 1.6 acres of land completely free of cost for construction of the tribunal while the Centre has already sanctioned funds for construction of the building, said the All Orissa Tax Bar Association(AOTBA).The income tax appellate tribunal, Cuttack bench, was established in 1970 and all these years the office was functioning at a rented house..
