DEHRADUN: The Uttarakhand bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has rejected the petition of the cabinet secretary who had requested deletion of his name from the list of parties mentioned in a petition filed by whistleblower IFS officer Sanjiv Chaturvedi. The high court had referred the case to CAT. In view of the aforesaid, we are of the opinion that respondent no. Reacting to the contention submitted by the Union government that the cabinet secretary had “no role to play in the preparation and communication of (Chaturvedi’s) APAR, in as much as he is not the accepting authority and has been wrongly and illegally made respondent no.
