Undertrial jumps from 3rd floor of court building critical

Dehradun: An undertrial was critically injured after he allegedly jumped from the third floor of a local court where he was to be presented on Monday. He was one of the people left injured after a car fell into a 150 metre gorge near Mussoorie-Tehri Bypass on July 5. Police had found four sacks of poppy weighing 62 kg from the car. He was taken to a government hospital and later referred to a private hospital.Jitendra Singh, 24, was booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Singh, a native of Uttarkashi district, is physically disabled and jumped from the third floor shortly after meeting his wife.Police said a case would be registered in the matter and the role of police personnel would be probed..
