RUDRAPUR: Suspended additional district magistrate (ADM) of Rudraprayag district , one of the accused in the Rs 300-crore NH-74 land acquisition and compensation scam, surrendered in Rudrapur on Monday. Of the eight files suspected to have been signed in back dates by the suspended officer, forensic lab report of three confirmed our doubts. The alleged scam pertains to land acquisition between 2011 and 2016 for widening of the 300-km stretch of Haridwar-Bareilly national highway (NH-74). PCS officer, Tirath Pal, surrendered at the senior superintendent of police’s office on Monday just days after his residence in Dehradun was raided by the special investigation team (SIT).
