Amid protest by priests pilgrimage to Yamunotri shrine resumes

We have also deputed SDRF and police personnel for the assistance of pilgrims.” Uttarkashi: Pilgrimage to the Yamunotri shrine as part of Char Dham yatra , which was halted due to flash floods, resumed on Wednesday amid protests by temple priests.The administration has also restored traffic on both Gangotri and Yamunotri national highways which was disrupted due to landslides in the region.On Wednesday, 19 pilgrims undertook the trek to the shrine through an alternative route, though horse rides and palanquin facility have not resumed yet..
