Thirdparty probe ordered into delay in construction of multistory parking in Nainital

Dehradun: Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat on Thursday reviewed the progress of his announcement made for Nainital district and made it clear that laxity in work by officers will not be tolerated. Of the 66 announcements for the district in the past 16 months, 30 have been completed and work is on in the other projects.Parking has been a major problem in Nainital and the delay in construction of a multi-storey parking did not go down well with the CM . The remaining Rs 1.5 crore rupees will be arranged through the first supplementary demand.For Haldwani, officials informed that an estimate has been received for the beautification of the water mill of Haldwani Damuadhunga and a go ahead will be issued within 15 days.Rawat told secretary peyjal to investigate the high cost and poor quality of construction of overhead water tank in Kaladungi assembly. He ordered a third-party probe into the matter and said that “negligence of officials will not be tolerated.”The CM, while expressing his displeasure, asked the officers about delay in submitting proposals regarding various schemes in the district.For Bhimtal constituency, it was said that a provision of Rs 3.5 crore has been made by the school education department regarding the announcement to increase the grant amount from Rs 3 crore to Rs 5 crore annually to the Sainik School Ghorakhal in the Bhimtal area by the state..
