Teachers’ body threaten fast-unto-death if demands not met

Dehradun: Rajkiya Shikshak Sangh, the body representing around 25,000 government teachers in the state has threatened to accelerate their protests if their demands of promotions and regularization of seventh pay commission are not met.Around 15 representatives of the body are on protest from Saturday and have given a 10-day notice to the government to consider their demands. This time, we will not give up until they release an order and will sit on a fast-unto-death.”Education director R K Kunwar said, “The department knows their demands and is working on it. The hiring process will soon begin and promotions will also start.”.
