Nainital: In a first of its kind initiative to promote butterfly conservation, a two-day awareness campaign to emphasise conservation of the species has concluded in Haldwani.The campaign, which was organised by the management of the proposed zoo-cum-safari in Haldwani in collaboration with a private organisation, concluded on Saturday.The objective of the campaign was to generate awareness, promote butterfly identification, conservation and to prepare a baseline data of butterflies in the area. Enthusiasts identified a total of 62 species in the area.Parag Madhukar Dhakate, director of the proposed zoo, said, “We will organise more such workshops on other species to generate awareness about their conservation.”.
