Dehradun: BJP leaders on Tuesday termed a sexual exploitation case registered against senior leader and the party’s national joint secretary Shiv Prakash as a ‘baseless one’ and ‘part of a conspiracy.’In August, the Kolkata police had registered an FIR after a woman complained of sexual exploitation against local BJP leader Amalendu Chattopadhyay. In the FIR, the woman had also named another local leader Bidyut Mukherjee as well as Shiv Prakash.Reacting to the case, BJP’s Uttarakhand state in-charge Shyam Jaju termed the FIR ‘baseless and false’.“The West Bengal government is harassing our BJP workers by using false complaints and initiating police action against them. The case is baseless.”Shiv Prakash, a former RSS worker, is the in-charge of the organisational aspects of the state BJP unit.Sources said that the West Bengal police have registered an FIR under sections 406 (punishment for criminal breach of trust), 313 (causing miscarriage without woman’s consent), 336 (endangering life or personal safety of others), 412 (dishonestly receiving property stolen in the commission of a dacoity) and 120(B) (punishment of criminal conspiracy) in the matter..
