Nainital: A man, identified as Saurabh Sonkar, was booked for clicking a selfie inside a polling booth and uploading it on Facebook on Sunday.Providing details, Nainital SSP Janmejay Khanduri told TOI, “A case has been registered against Saurabh Sonkar under Section 128 (maintenance of secrecy of voting) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 at the Nainital police station. “The act amounts to breaking the law and undermining the sanctity of voting process,” the police official said. We are also investigating how he managed to sneak in his mobile inside the polling booth.”He added that Sonkar reached the polling booth in a government degree college around 12pm and after casting his vote, he quickly clicked a selfie and uploaded it on social media.The incident was reported to returning officer Pankaj Upadhyay, who immediately moved an application to register an FIR into the case..
