Dehradun: The BJP’s defeat in chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat’s home turf - Doiwala - has come as a major embarrassment for the party. Of the 20 corporator seats of Doiwala for which the results were announced, seven seats each were won by the Independents and the BJP. In the 2017 assembly elections, CM Rawat had contested from the Diowala constituency and defeated Congress candidate Heera Singh Bisht. The Congress was successful in winning six corporator seats in Doiwala.Congress leader Mathura Dutt Joshi said, “This reflects how the CM is viewed in his own constituency.
