State to relieve 25 UP cadre doctors

Dehradun: Amid brewing discontent among Uttarakhand doctors over senior posts occupied by those from Uttar Pradesh cadre, the state government has decided to relieve 25 such practitioners from their posts with immediate effect.Governor Baby Rani Maurya issued an order to this effect on Friday.At present, there are 2,113 doctors in the state including those working on contractual basis. Hence, the state government decided to relieve such doctors from their duties in an attempt to promote parity and harmony among the practitioners.Pant added, “The move will not affect the health services in the state. This has led to much discontent ”Earlier, doctors belonging to Uttarakhand had approached higher officials citing the difficulties they face due to such appointments. At present, the total strength of doctors is well above the 2,000 mark.”.
