Cong to kick start 2019 LS poll campaign with ‘Parivartan Yatra’

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Congress is going to organise a five-day-long Parivartan Yatra to kick start their election campaigning ahead of general elections schedule later this year.The yatra, which will have five phases, will start from party chief Pritam Singh’s constituency, Chakrata. In the third and fourth phase, the party will take the yatra to the Kumaon region and the fifth phase will focus on the Terai region.Dhasmana added, “The yatra will have a grand ending in February with a massive public gathering which will be organised in Dehradun.” The yatra’s first phase will end with ‘ganga aarti’ in Haridwar.“We are preparing a charge-sheet of the failures of the BJP and we will share it with each individual of Uttarakhand,” Dhasmana said.The second phase of the yatra will resume after Republic Day in which Congress will cover areas of Pauri Garhwal, Rudraprayag and Chamoli districts. The second, third, fourth and fifth phases will cover rest of Uttarakhand and will culminate in February with a mega pubic gathering in which national leaders of the party will also take part.State Congress vice president Suryakant Dhasmana told TOI that Singh will flag off the ‘Parivartan Yatra’ from Hanor village of Chakrata, which is famous for its Shiva temple.The yatra will host public meetings in which Congressmen will share the failures of BJP, both at the Centre and the state level..
