Three teachers attached to block education officerrsquos office

PITHORAGARH: Three teachers of Government Inter collage, Muwani, Rajendra Singh Bora (officiating principal), Pooran Singh and Anil Kumar were attached to the block education officer’s office at Kanalichhina by the chief education officer of Pithoragarh on Thursday. The protestors had demanded a magisterial enquiry and action to be taken against the teachers. The father of the 17-year-old boy had accused his teachers of humiliating the teenager in the school assembly. The action follows the suicide of a class XII student who took his life allegedly after being scolded by his teachers on February 9. Girls of the college also alleged that teachers came drunk to school and asked the girls for their phone numbers.“A departmental enquiry was set up by the chief education officer with a three-member team consisting of district education officer, AK Gusain, block education officer of Kanichhina, HR Kohli and principal of Government Inter College, Thal, Asha Joshi”, said chief education officer, Pithoragarh, AK Jukaria.The report of the three-member enquiry committee has also been sent to the director of education (secondary), Dehradun, for further action, Jukaria added..
