After long winter break, Uttarkashi welcomes first international tourists of this year

Uttarkashi: Uttarakashi welcomed this year’s first batch of international tourists on Saturday, giving some respite to the tourism industry of the district which, till now, bore a deserted look due to low footfall of tourists in light of heavy snowfall in the area.The 12 member Malaysian group reached the remote Mori block to explore the villages and its diverse ecology of the region. However, now when the climate isgetting better and valleys have turned immensely beautiful, we are hoping for the arrival of tourists in good number.”Meanwhile, president of Garhwal Himalaya Trekking and Mountaineering Association, Jayendra Rana demanded that the gates of Gangotri National Park and Govind Wildlife Sanctuary be opened from March 1.
