NAINITAL: Uttarakhand high court on Friday asked the state government to file a reply within three weeks regarding the delay in allocation of chambers to advocates of the HC.DK Joshi, counselor for 104 practising advocates who filed the petition said that law practitioners are facing difficulties due to the lack of adequate infrastructural facilities, particularly the non- availability of advocates’ chambers in the high court. Since the number of advocates’ chambers are insufficient, nearly 25% of practicing advocates are availing the facility of chambers while the remaining 75% do not have chambers or any other facilities," added Joshi.The petition stated that due to the non-availability of chambers, the petitioners are facing numerous difficulties including the lack of an appointed place to deal with litigants, and keep their files, etc. There have been numerous instances where advocates have lost their files, books, gowns, laptops and other electronic gadgets due to the non-availability of suitable facilities to keep these items.The petitioners also mentioned that most of them do not have any facility of lockers to keep their files, gowns and other belongings..
