Cong banks on Priyanka roadshow, BJP on Modi, Shah rallies in U’khand

Dehradun: Both Congress and BJP are banking on their respective party’s star campaigners to garner maximum votes from the hill state. “State in-charge Anugrah Narayan Singh, former CM Harish Rawat, state Congress president Pritam Singh and leader of opposition Indira Hridayesh will also boost the party campaign," said Dasauni. The star campaigners would start arriving in Uttarakhand after Holi.Similarly, state Congress is also looking at organising a roadshow of Priyanka Vadra in Kumoan region.Speaking to TOI, Congress spokesperson Garima Dasauni said, “We have a battery of senior leaders whom we will invite to back our election campaign.” She added that a separate list of state-level star campaigners is being prepared. While Congress president Rahul Gandhi has already conducted a rally in the state capital on Saturday and his sister Priyanka Vadra is expected to participate in a roadshow in Kumaon shortly, the BJP state unit is gearing up for two big rallies of PM Narendra Modi and national president Amit Shah in both the Garhwal and Kumaon regions.Speaking to TOI, BJP state president Ajay Bhatt said, “We have proposed two rallies each in Kumaon and Garhwal of PM Modi and our party president. The exact dates are being worked out in consultation with the party office in Delhi.”The tentative venues of Modi’s rally are Srinagar, Haridwar, Haldwani and Dehradun, while Amit Shah would hold the rally in other places in Tehri Garhwal and Almora.The list of the star campaigners includes General (retd) V K Singh, union health minister JP Nadda, defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman and actors Hema Malini and Manoj Tiwari..
