BJP's Mala Rajya Lakshmi Shah, Tirath Rawat file nominations

Dehradun: BJP candidates Mala Rajya Lakshmi Shah and Tirath Singh Rawat filed their nomination papers for the Tehri and Pauri Lok Sabha seats respectively on Friday.After conducting a pooja and havan, Shah accompanied by hundrfeds of party workers and BJP leaders including CM Trivendra Singh Rawat and mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama, took out a rally through the main areas of Dehradun. Rest of the BJP candidates — Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank (Haridwar), Ajay Bhatt (Nainital) and Ajay Tamta (Almora) will file their nominations on the last date of nominations on March 25, state BJP media chief Devendra Bhasin said. (with inputs by PTI) After filing her nomination, Shah said, “ I have worked hard for the development of Tehri during my tenure as an MP and I am confident that people will express their faith in me again.” The chief minister, MLAs and party leaders accompanying her to the election office at the collectorate were wearing headbands with ‘Main Bhi Chowkidar’ written on them.Meanwhile, Tirath Singh Rawat, BJP’s candidate for the Pauri seat who is contesting the Lok Sabha polls for the first time, also filed his nominations from Pauri later in the day.After offering prayers at Pauri's Lakshmi Narayan temple, Rawat, accompanied by CM Trivendra Rawat and other party leaders filed his nomination..
