Summary:

Dehradun: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Uttarakhand in-charge, Shyam Jaju, on Tuesday rebutted Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s charge that the saffron party ‘humiliated’ BC Khanduri by removing him from the Parliamentary defence committee, saying that he was removed due to ‘ailing health’.“No one in Uttarakhand has ever given such a high portfolio of Parliamentary defence committee which the BJP has given to BC Khanduri. He was removed due to his ailing health,” said Jaju, who is also one of the BJP’s star campaigners, while interacting with media. When queried as to why the BJP did not give the Pauri ticket to a leader who has a defence background, Jaju said: “Our Pauri Garhwal candidate Tirath Singh Rawat also comes from family which has served for the nation, hence this question is invalid.”He claimed that the BJP will get a landslide mandate from Paury, saying “No party can claim to have done what we have done for the forces.”.
