Uttarakhand Minister drenches forest fire with brush, watch video

State minister Harak Singh Rawat came up with a solution to tackle the crisis, the BJP leader decided to fan away from the flames with a bush.

Harak Singh Rawat indeed attempted to douse a portion of the forest fire using a bush while others around him filmed him in action.

Soon, a 30-second clip showing Rawat fanning the fire went viral.

While some netizens appreciated him for the initiative, others didn`t escape a chance to take a dig at him.

As many as 414 forest fires have been reported from Uttarakhand in April so far while 645.3 hectares of forests have been destroyed.

Nainital, Almora, Tehri, and Pauri districts are the worst hit by forest fires, an official said on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the fire that broke out in 62 hectares of forest area, killed four persons and seven animals.

"12,000 guards and fire watchers of state forest dept deployed to douse the fire.

Fire destroyed property worth Rs 37 lakhs so far," said the Principal Chief Conservator.
