Eight people from Amritsar, including 2 NRIs, on Hemkund Sahib yatra missing for more than a week

DEHRADUN: Eight people from Amritsar who had come to offer prayers at the Hemkund Sahib gurudwara near Joshimath in Chamoli district have been reported missing for more than a week. The eight people have been untraceable since then.The other passengers in the white Toyota Innova have been identified as Kulbeer Singh, Harkeval Singh, Pala Singh, Gora Singh, Jasbir Singh, Iqbal Singh and Paramjeet Singh. Out of the eight, two are NRIs based in the USA.According to police sources, the missing persons, seven of whom are relatives, hail from Mahita Chowk of Amritsar and were travelling in a white SUV. Our teams are inspecting the route to Hemkund Sahib and other adjoining areas,” Bhatt added.Hemkund Sahib is a prominent Sikh shrine located at almost 15,000-foot above sea level. Our teams are checking CCTV cameras, contacting various people at parking lots and investigating records of hotels and eateries..
