UP judge who slapped cop booked

DEHRADUN: Dehradun police has registered a case against a woman additional district judge (ADJ) in Uttar Pradesh for allegedly slapping a policeman at Prem Nagar police station on September 12.The video of the judge, identified as Jaya Pathak, allegedly misbehaving with the cop had been doing the rounds on social media.Police booked her after clearance from Allahabad High Court. “She has been booked under sections 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from duty), 353 (assault to deter public servant from discharge of duty), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC,” said a police officer.The incident took place when the accused judge had gone to the police station in support of her son who was called by the cops for his alleged involvement in a college fight between two student groups..
