Delhi chief secy 'assault': Work affected in govt departments

NEW DELHI: People today had a tough time in getting their job done in several departments as most of the officials boycotted their work in protest against the alleged assault on Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash by AAP MLAs at the chief minister's residence.At the Delhi Secretariat , more than 200 government employees remained stubborn, demanding the arrest of those who attacked the chief secretary, a top bureaucrat in the national capital.According to the Delhi government employee welfare association, around 7,000 staff boycotted their work in support of Prakash.Although the IAS and DANICS officers' associations announced that they would not go on strike as it would make people suffer, most of the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) officials, who do clerical works, did not join work.Throughout the day, the IAS and DANICS officers had a round of meeting on the issue due to which they could not join their respective offices..
