NEW DELHI: Social activist and Arya Samaj leader Swami Agnivesh was heckled while going to BJP headquarters to pay homage to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee . Agnivesh had crossed the first security barricade when he was stopped by a few men and women, who questioned his purpose. The men are also seen shoving him, calling him a traitor and anti-national.Later, when the group surrounded Agnivesh, policemen intervened and shielded him from the punches. Due to security arrangements, no vehicles were allowed on Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg, so Agnivesh had to walk the final stretch.Senior police officers said that the incident occurred at 12.05pm at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg. He was earlier assaulted on July 17 on a visit to Pakur district of Jharkhand, allegedly by activists of BJP Yuva Morcha.Police are analysing the video of the attack and recording statements of eyewitnesses to take necessary action..
