NEW DELHI: In a slew of decisions, the Delhi Cabinet on Tuesday approved the installation of CCTV cameras in government schools , renamed SMCs as Vidyalaya Kalyan Samitis and revised the remuneration for guest teachers.The CCTV project was given an in-principal approval. DoE has been engaging guest teachers since 2010. “The cabinet accorded its administrative approval and the expenditure sanction for the installation of CCTV cameras in government schools under the Directorate of Education (DoE). It was decided that funds to schools will not be allocated on the basis of size, but the enrolment in the school. The teachers are paid on a daily-wage basis.The decisions have been based on the recommendations of a committee constituted by deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia to examine the request of Dilli Atithi Shikshak Sangh regarding the revision of the remuneration of guest teachers..
