Cops write to DPCC over sewer deaths in Delhi

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Police has written to the Delhi Pollution Control Committee in connection with the death of three people in the sewage treatment plant of Taj Vivanta Ambassador hotel located in south Delhi’s Khan Market.The reply is being sought regarding the inspection of the sewage plant conducted by the committee and to ascertain if necessary approvals were in place. Five men had fallen unconscious in the plant on April 29 and three of them had died.Senior police officers said the charge sheet in the case is being prepared and would be filed soon.Apart from booking the two directors of Eco Pollutech Engineers, the private company which was contracted for the maintenance of the plant, the cops are also planning to book some employees of the hotel as well..
