South Delhi Municipal Corporation cracks whip on air pollution violations

The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has been continuing its action against air pollution in all its four zones. On Thursday, concerned officers slapped challans on citizens of Delhi who'd defaulted the provisions of the National Green Tribunal Act and the Delhi Municipal Corporation Act. In all, 106 challans have been issued on Thursday at the South Zone. Under West Zone, 24 challans were issued under the NGT Act for burning of leaves and garbage and 60 challans under the DMC Act. And finally, at South Zone, 19 challans were issued for construction activities and 13 for burning of garbage under the NGT Act, and 74 general challans under the DMC Act..
