Notice to Centre on YSRCP’s plea alleging phone-tapping

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Tuesday asked the Central and Andhra Pradesh governments to respond to the plea by the YSR Congress Party leaders alleging that their phones were being tapped. Subba Reddy told the court they had, in December 2018, made a representation to the Union Home Ministry over alleged surveillance. They have also sought necessary legal action against those concerned, and asked the court to seek an explanation in what circumstances they were put under surveillance. Subba Reddy and five others, including party chief Jaganmohan Reddy’s personal and political assistants, alleging “illegal technical surveillance” and seeking the court’s direction to authorities concerned to forthwith end it..
