Delhi’s vertical gardens fading away, know why

While spring is in a colourful show in many gardens and parks across central Delhi, the once lovely vertical gardens created on the drab pillars and blank walls of the flyovers in south Delhi are brown and wilted . In some places, the green spaces under the flyovers have been taken over by migrant tribals . So instead of an eye-pleasing sight, one gets only to see damaged saplings and bald dirt surfaces there.Last year, South Delhi Municipal Corporation took up the task of developing vertical gardens at 11 places. These were meant as much for beautification as for mitigating dust pollution and were widely appreciated by the public. “They are taking care of the plants, but, yes, the grass is missing at places..
