LG inaugurates SDMC s RFID system

New Delhi: Delhi Leiutenant-General Anil Baijal on Monday inaugurated the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system, which has succesfully been installed at all entry-points to the Capital city. Within three years of the direction, the SDMC has now implemented the RFID system at all entry points except the one at Gahzipur Main. The RFID based toll system comprises of 58 RFID lanes and 33 free lanes, with 40,000 commercial vehicles already having obtained their RFID tags after pre-registration. The sensor of RFID system can read the tag on the commercial vehicle and allow entry of vehicles in Delhi without human intervention. A web portal has also been setup to enable the users to recharge their individual RFID tag accounts and keeping track of their transactions..
