DU s libraries labs shut as staff sits on protest demanding pending promotions

New Delhi: Many libraries and labs are shut in different colleges of Delhi University as their staff sat on protest, Wednesday, demanding promotions that have been pending from the past 20-25 years. Entering the 10th day of the protest, the staff sat outside the Art Faculty building demanding that Recruitment Rules (RR) be implemented. In 2018, a Comprehensive Committee that consisted of professors from the university made a Draft University of Delhi (Non-Teaching) Recruitment Rules (RR). According to RR, staff that has been working for a long time, be given promotion, after considering their qualifications.
