New Delhi: The Customs officials at IGI airport arrested three persons for smuggling gold worth over Rs 44 lakh into the country in two separate cases. In the first case, a man was arrested with gold worth over Rs 15 lakh. During investigation, the second passenger admitted that two pieces of gold were hidden in his rectum. The seized gold, weighing 870 grams in total and valued at Rs 29.56 lakh, was seized and the accused arrested, Amandeep Singh added. "On further investigation, one of the accused admitted his involvement in smuggling of gold and being a part of the gold smuggling syndicate," Singh said..
