Summary:

New Delhi: Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Subhash Chopra on Thursday said that his party condemns the lathi-charge on Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) students by the Delhi Police during a march against the fee hike by the administration, on November 18. Chopra while addressing a meeting of student leaders, former presidents of the Delhi University Students Union said, "The manner in which the police brutally lathi-charged the JNU students at the direction of the Modi Government proves that the BJP Government wants to suppress through force the students' constitutional right to voice their protest." Condemning the whole act, Chopra said that he stands in solidarity with the students and support their cause. "JNU administration and the police are being saffronized by the BJP Government at the Centre," he alleged. He also added that if the JNU students don't receive justice, then Delhi Congress will start an agitation in support of their demands..
