DCPCR writes to DMs to inspect resources facilities in child care institutions

New Delhi: In a bid to save the most vulnerable children of society, the Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR) has written to District Magistrates to inspect the availability of resources and facilities for children living in child care institutions (CCIs). "It is requested that a visit is made to all the child shelter homes in your (DMs) districts to inspect the availability of resources and facilities for the children living in these places. The commission seeks an action taken report at the earliest," said Ranjana Prasad, member DCPCR, in her letter. The DCPCR member said that there are around 110 CCIs in Delhi where most vulnerable children, who need more care and protection, live. Meanwhile, the child rights body has also sent a mailto the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) in which they have attached links of educational radio programmes, activity books for children of different age group living in CCIs..
