Summary:

NEW DELHI: Technology is proving to be handy for child welfare committees (CWCs) across Delhi in reaching out to the children living in child care institutions (CCIs) in the Capital. Through video conferencing and emails, the status of children is being regularly monitored. Child Welfare Committee-III in Sewa Kutir Complex in Kingsway camp looks after 400 children living in eight CCIs in the city. As a follow-up measure, chairperson and members of CWC are interacting with the children staying in all eight homes through video conferencing on a daily basis, ensuring their well-being and also providing necessary counselling where required. They are also viewing the CCIs and open shelters through video conferencing to ensure and monitor hygiene and other activities of the homes..
