Patna: Over 90 people who were part of a wedding at a Patna village have tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

The 30-year-old groom, a software engineer in Gurugram, had died two days after tying the knot.

He was, however, cremated without being tested for Covid-19 even though he was symptomatic.

After the district administration in Patna was informed of the groom’s death at a village in Paliganj, 50 km from Patna, close relatives of the couple were tested.

As many as 15 people who had attended the wedding celebrations on June 15 tested positive.

The administration, which was sent into a tizzy, then began contact tracing.

On Monday, 80 more people tested positive for novel coronavirus -- making it possibly the first case of mass spread of coronavirus in Bihar.
