Pramod Bhashin has become new Chairperson of the Board of Governors of the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER), a premier think tank based in Delhi
Mr.
Bhashin has replaced Dr.
Isher Judge Ahluwalia who stepped down from her position due to declining health after holding the position for 15 years.
She had become Chairperson in 2005.
Isher, as she is affectionately known to friends and colleagues, will continue as Chairperson Emerita, a position specially created to honour her exceptional contributions to ICRIER.
ICRIER’s efforts to realise the ambitions of the founders as an independent, high quality think tank creating knowledge for evidence based policy formulation got a boost when Dr.
Ahluwalia became Director and Chief Executive in 1998
Her outstanding leadership and deep commitment meant that ICRIER became synonymous with her and with the qualities of excellence, integrity and independence she embodies.
