TEN DAYS OF CURFEW & LOCK DOWN CAUSED BUSINESS LOSS OF 46 THOUSAND CRORES

Summary:

Ten days of night curfew and partial lockdown in different States of the country has caused an estimated business loss of about Rs.

46 thousand crores out of which the retail trade loss is about Rs.

32 thousand crores and the wholesale business suffered a loss of about Rs.

14 thousand crores, the above figure relates to only nine states of the Country and have been calculated on the basis of feedback of prominent trade leaders of these nine States.

14 thousand crores- said the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) today while summarising the so far effect of night curfew and partial lockdown in different States.

Almost 60% of consumers are avoiding visiting physical markets due to the daily steep rise of covid.

CAIT National President Mr B.C.Bhartia and Secretary General Mr Praveen Khandelwal today said that the above figure relates to nine states of the Country and have been calculated on the basis of feedback of prominent trade leaders of these nine States.

Both trade leaders said that as per the information gathered from these States,  in Maharashtra, there is a loss of business of about 10 thousand crores in retail and in wholesale this figure stands for about Rs.4000 thousand crores, in Chattisgarh, the retail business has suffered a loss of about 1200 crores and the wholesale trade has seen a loss of about 600 crores of rupees, in Gujarat, the retail trade has suffered a loss of about  4800 crores of rupees and a loss of about 2200 crore has caused to the wholesale trade.

Mr Bhartia & Mr Khandelwal further said that in Delhi, the retail trade has suffered a loss of about Rs.3000 crores and the wholesale trade has suffered a loss of about 1400 crores of rupees, in Karnataka, the retail loss is about Rs.4300 crore whereas the wholesale trade loss is about Rs.
