Poonawala further said producing enough doses for all adults in India is not an easy task.

He also said Serum has received "all kinds of support, be it scientific, regulatory and financial" from the goverment.

After Centre issued clarification on media reports saying it has not placed any orders for vaccine, Poonawala said Serum has "got 100% advance of Rs.

1732 50 Crore by Gol for the next tranche of 11 crore doses in the next few months." "As of today, we received total orders of over 26 crore doses, of which we supplied more than 15 crore doses," he said.
