On Friday on the occasion of the birthday of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India set a record by administering 2 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses till around 5pm.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced free covid-19 vaccines for all citizens and urged people to give him PM Modi birthday gift by getting vaccinated those who have not taken the dose so far.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi will interact with healthcare workers and beneficiaries of Covid vaccination programme, on completion of 100 per cent first dose coverage for the adult population in Goa on September 18 at 10:30 am via video conferencing.

A special vaccination drive for women has been organized in Mumbai by the BMC on Friday on the occasion of PM Modi’s birthday.

In a first such initiative, women beneficiaries will be given both first and second doses on a walk-in basis.

The drive will be undertaken at vaccination centers run by the state government and civic body.

The BMC said, “Under the Covid-19 prevention vaccination campaign, a special vaccination session reserved for women will be conducted on Friday (September 17) between 10.30 am to 6.30 pm at all government and municipal Covid-19 Vaccination where women will be able to take the first or second dose of the Covid vaccine by on-spot registration and online will be remained closed for this special session.”

Meanwhile, private hospitals will continue to administer vaccine doses to both male and female beneficiaries as usual.
