Ram Nath Kovind becomes 14th President of India

He has defeated UPA candidate Meira Kumar by a 67 per cent votes.

Polling for the new President took place on July 17.

Polling for the new President took place on July 17.

Total 4,880 valid voters comprising of 4,109 members of legislative Assemblies (MLAs) and 771 elected members of Parliament (MPs) had cast their vote. The counting of votes began at 11 am on Thursday today.

However, according to reports pouring-in suggests there has been cross voting taking place in Gujarat, Goa and Assam.

The new President will be sworn-in on July 25.
