SC stays Triple Talaq for 6 months; asks Parliament to formulate law

The much awaited verdict in Triple Talaq has come.

The Supreme Court has pronounced its order.

The Supreme Court has put a stay order on the Triple Talaq for next six months.

At the same time the Court has asked the Government to formulate a law in this regard.

While reading the order, the bench said it’s the duty of Parliament to constitute a law.

While reading the order, the bench said it’s the duty of Parliament to constitute a law.

However, the court said if Parliament fails to bring the law then Court will step in.  A five-judge Supreme Court bench has barred the controversial Triple Talaq practice, asking the Centre to bring legislation.
