Arvind Kejriwal approves seven sewage treatment plants in north Delhi

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today approved setting up of seven decentralised sewage treatment plants in north Delhi’s Burari area and the government is planning similar facilities for the entire city. According to the government, these seven DSTPs will cover sewer lines for 25 colonies in the area. The government has planned decentralized STPs in all Delhi colonies and institutions with a special focus on unauthorized areas, an official said. On September 5, Kejriwal had asked the DJB to come with a roadmap for decentralized STPs all over Delhi. The move came as Kejriwal, who is also the Chairman of the DJB, held a meeting with officials on setting up decentralised sewage treatment plants..
