DDA allots land for bus terminal in Delhi

Delhi | Tuesday | 21st November, 2017

Summary:

New Delhi: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on Monday handed over 12 acres of land to the Transport Department for building a bus terminal. Earlier, the Delhi government had said that they were not able to buy buses as the DDA was not allotting land for bus depots. The land was allotted in Rohini area of west Delhi. Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot said that the government hoped that “DDA will hand over more land parcels immediately” so that government can get more buses and augment public transport. The government also refused to implement the odd-even vehicle rationing scheme if women and two-wheelers were not exempted, saying “considering the large number of two-wheelers in Delhi, unless adequate number of buses are available, implementation of odd-even will cause great hardship to such persons”..
