Sewage not treated, pollutes three Gwalpahari ponds, residents fume

“There are no sewage treatment plants in the societies in the area. The authorities have linked underground pipes with the ponds to release sewage there. This environmental violation can cause severe damage to groundwater of many areas,” said Vaishali Rana Chandra, an environmental activist.“I visited this area and we allotted one sewage treatment plant for this village. “Sewage from the ponds seeps into the groundwater, causing major groundwater pollution not only in the Gurugram, but also in Delhi and Faridabad.Shockingly, there is an aquifer passing through Bandhwari which is again very near to Gwalpahari. As the townships’ population is growing, so is the size of the ponds..
